The Community Club plans and implements a variety of events, programs, and fundraisers throughout the year. To support these events, visit our Volunteer page.

Grade Captains

With support from Room Parent Coordinators, Captains facilitate arrangements & communications across the two classrooms for room parties and staff appreciation (ex. birthday, holiday & year-end gifts).

Holiday Parties

Room Parents plan and host Halloween and Valentine's Day parties in each classroom. Parties usually include snacks, games, and craft activities!

Parent/Teacher Conference Meals

The CC organizes a teacher meal (dinner) during conferences. When conferences approach, families donate beverages, desserts and/or snack items. The main dish is catered.

Staff Appreciation Week

Once in the fall and again in the spring, Club volunteers coordinate activities to thank teachers and school staff for all their efforts! Activities include gift card staff prize drawings, lunch and dinner buffets, thank you note-writing stations, and thank you decorating around the school.

Staff Lounge Food

At least monthly, teachers and staff are treated to a special food item in the lounge, including hosting a popcorn bar, granola bar snacks, and Joe-on-the-Go coffee bar.

Kindergarten Connections

This new program aims to kick-start relationships amongst Kindergarten families. We host family events, like playground meet-ups and a parents'-only night out. We know Kindergarten can be a big adjustment, and we want to make sure all new Bulldog families know they are part of our community!

Bulldogs Give Back

Throughout the year, Rockbrook students and families are given the opportunity to learn about the importance of volunteerism and giving back to our community. Connections happen when we remove barriers and bring students with different backgrounds and interests together for a common goal of helping others.

Open House

At the start of each year, the Community Club works with the staff to welcome Rockbrook families back to school! Volunteers greet families, encourage families to sign up for the directory and CC website, and assist with volunteer-sign-ups. Students also receive their free t-shirts!

Fun Run

For the past 37 years, Rockbrook Bulldogs have strapped on their running shoes to run/walk a 1-mile course through the neighborhood. Club volunteers coordinate and staff this event, which includes cheering stations, water stations, and a popsicle party at the Finish Line.

Family Fun Nights

The CC hosts two family fun nights, one in the fall and one in the spring. For the first time this fall, all Rockbrook families will gather at the middle school for a family dance party! Attendees will enjoy light concessions, a selfie station, a live DJ, dancing, and plenty of fun. In the spring, at Art Pizza & BINGO, families will be able to tour students' classrooms, view their specially-hung artwork, and enjoy pizza and BINGO in the gym.

Parents Night Out

At least twice throughout the school year, Bulldog parents are invited to an adults-only night out. Usually held at a neighborhood bar or restaurant, these are great opportunities to get to know fellow parents.

Family Breakfast

Families gather at the school a few times each year to enjoy breakfast, meet other families, and tour students' classrooms. Parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and other special friends are all invited!

Sixth Grade Events

For our oldest Bulldogs, their last year at Rockbrook is extra special! CC volunteers plan and host events throughout the school year including a project or gift back to the school, an end of year breakfast, and a graduation pool party.

The CC sponsors various fundraisers throughout the year designed to enhance students' learning. All funds directly support Rockbrook teachers, staff, students, and families!

Yearbook

Finally, the CC actively coordinates the designing, publishing, and distribution of the annual school yearbook. We welcome photo submissions throughout the school year via the Community Club email address.
